The Pergamon Altar

A large 2nd century BC Greek temple excavated by German archaeologists in 1878 to 1886 in Pergamon, on the West coast of Turkey. Fragments were brought to Berlin where a temple replica was built and opened in its namesake museum in 1930. It's an impressive exhibit, followed by something from 110 miles south and 300 years later.
