Monday December 16 ride to Columbia City and try out new 520 lid path

A splendid day in the Jeckell and Hyde weather that is Seattle in December.  It was a great opportunity to ride the newly opened 520 lid bike path. It's always wonderful to have an errand to run by bike.

The 520 lid opening is a bust

Windy and rainy so not worth the agony. I will do on a nicer day. Instead a 9 mile ride to the library, greenlake for brunch and nasty "put on rain pants" downpours so rode home. Still worth it.

Sunny cold December anti clockwise Chesiahud loop

Today's forecasted fog burned off so it was a great day to bike the incredibly scenic loop of Lake Union. Lots to see with a lunch stop at museum of history and industry for a very late breakfast.

Wednesday errands for Saturday’s holiday party

2 dozen Frelard tamales with 2 salsas and 4 day old baguettes from Byen Bakeri for bruschetta. All in preparation for this year's holiday party in Columbia City. A good excuse for a bike ride on a cold and sunny December day.

Silver Star resort Thanksgiving long weekend for the last time

Two days of classic xc skiing for me in perfect grooming of light dry snow. First time back in maybe 7 years. Some of the best conditions I've seen, and many happy if bittersweet memories. But I managed 2 x 4 miles of skiing after a 2-year lull. I still love so much about Nordic skiing even though it's very challenging. But I hope to skate at least once this season at home before heading down under.
