On the side of the Canterbury Museum

What you can do with a big wall

OMG! The sky is falling!

Actually, not really. Montana, rebranded as Brancott Estate in 2010, so that careless foreigners who want cheap wine didn't think it came from vineyards in the Rockies of the USA, is owned by Pernod Ricard. Oh la la!
It's the wine making style favored by brand focused multinationals offering "masstige".

Go, maggots!

A bitter sweet sign of Christchurch progress

Apparently the Re:Start container mall closed the day before I got here, so I won't get to visit the stalls after all.
"This is the end of an era and it's sad for Christchurch. Now the city will lose this vibey, funky sort of area." - stall holder quote.
Nah. NZ is a vibey, funky sort of place. Figure it out!

Earthquake retrofit

First time I've been back in Cha Cha since its terrible 2nd earthquake, the February 22, 2011 6.3 aftershock. On my agenda is a visit to Quake City and 185 Chairs.
I was in Milford Sound when it happened, and wondered about the ingenious use of containers to heal the city.

Wine 101 courtesy of Air New Zealand

Apparently I could also do a tasting flight in flight! Ha ha. Was a crazy turbulent descent into Christchurch so I'm glad I'm not having to clean up wine barf.
