Bike Paths of Hamburg

Hamburg's divided paths make bike riding such fun. And most people know and follow the rules if engagement.
Bike lanes are paved often in contrast red brick or grey tile.
There are occasional idiots on bikes who insist on trying to overtake you when there's a grandmother or someone pushing a baby carriage in your path, but I got used to blocking them as they came up behind. I have over 10 years of commuter bike riding, boys and girls, so although I look like an uncoordinated middleaged woman on a circus bike, I am wise to all your tricks. And I have a few of my own for special occasions.
As for pedestrians who didn't give a shit, I gave up trying to speak in German to them, just turned on the Margaret Thatcher voice.
Hamburg is a very rideable city and I'm glad I made the effort to visit.
Tomorrow I head for Berlin.
