Enough for a nice meal

It's an abbreviated chanterelle season. Already had a freeze before a crop could really "flower". But a fabulous Halloween sunny Sunday to go foraging.

Halloween green beans

My first and only crop this year. But it's a nice treat for October. Definitely organic,

Foraging in the hood

Someone in my neighborhood has quinces that they just let fall into the street. Ahh good for me. With a little cleaning with a knife this beauty will roast to sweetness.

VELF #2

A few more weeks to go. Always the way. Once you figure out how to work it, it's over! But I've learned a lot as a teacher working in an imperfect technological space.

Friday October 8

Cascade club ride from Fall City to carnation. A long (35 miles) commute to start, but enjoyable return. It's been a month since I first rode it and it's impressive to see the progress of fall. The dahlia fields are winding down and there is more color in the leaves. A pleasant consolation prize for my teaching to be canceled.

I had a little nut tree 🎶

Actually it's a quince. My first crop on my 3rd season tree. I almost didn't see it!

Wednesday night pumpkin coconut curry

Not bad at all.
