Black Friday at Pearl Harbor

The Aviation Museum and a visit to the USS Arizona. Both worthwhile and thought provoking.

SEA to HON

My 2022 Thanksgiving. I'm blessed. Lows in the 70s and one of the loveliest places in the world.

Black Friday in the Ala Moana mall

Ramen for breakfast and cute cat bread: Ono!

First of 4 wheel building classes at BikeWorks

My first class last night was disheartening, as it's been raining all day, my clothes are damp and the bike shop is drafty. I learned several things but the other students are more advanced. I will find some books and videos to study as this isn't rocket science. Not sure where I'm going with this thing but I hope it improves my bike wrenching skills.

On my 24 mile bike on Lopez

Old favorites

Retirement ain’t bad

Out to Fisherman’s Bay reserve as always

Never gets old

The bike on the barn

First Orcas then Lopez

Only one other local cyclist and a bunch of contractors heading to work:

Starting out

By 7:30am it was dawn at the WSF dock in Anacortes.

Lopez island mid November ride layers ever

Am early start leaving the house at 5:20am to get to the WSF 7:30a to Orcas, then backtrack to get to Lopez around 9am. Breakfast in Lopez Village then a favorite ride under 25 miles. It's cold and gets dark early. And no ferry back to Anacortes after the 1:35p until 5, so cool heels in the heated shelter at the dock and read a library book.

Lunch at Rexville store

Plus grand view of blueberry farm and Mt Baker

Snow geese overhead but no landing

Closed for the season.

New farmstand on Fir Island

Sunny and cold November circuit in Skagit County

Along the Skagit River dikes to seek out trumpeter swans and snow geese. An early start at dawn meant reaching Skagit Valley Coop for leisurely breakfast of coffee and a chocolate croissant, then lovely low traffic ride in the fallow fields.

Cabo Azul and my room for a week

The main infinity pools. I swam 5 circuits of the lowest pool, giving a wide berth to all the other floating people. Sort of like a koi in a pond. Later I did another 25 laps in the serenity pool, with fewer lookie Lou's.

Trip to San Jose del Cabo Mexico October 30 to November 6

DL1914 at 11:15am. Then over St George, UT and a splendid view of the Grand Canyon.
Speak, memory.
