Riding local, riding abroad. Doesn't matter. "One less car" bike commuting and "Bikes Belong" advocacy, plus "I ride solo" bicycle travel. Racing is fun, but there are so many equally great reasons to ride.

My first community ride from BikeWorks
A bit chaotic, but a diverse group with lots of South Enders. Weather great for November and I rode home from Columbia city on my regular lake Washington route.
First ride from home to Northgate light rail
It's been at least 4 years since
I commuted to North Seattle College. The bike infrastructure is very good.

Cheshiahud loop clockwise biking on a sunny and windy Tuesday
The 16 miles are now finally accessible again, with the months-long road work near Fred Hutch gone. I hated trying to ride this loop along the houseboats on Fairview Ave E because the detours were careless and perfunctory. But it's great to ride clockwise because you do a 360 degree around Lake Union ride with the water always on your side of the street.
