Riding local, riding abroad. Doesn't matter. "One less car" bike commuting and "Bikes Belong" advocacy, plus "I ride solo" bicycle travel. Racing is fun, but there are so many equally great reasons to ride.

Railroads are apparent
Ridewithgps says 28.8 miles average 9.1.mph. Cool cloudy with sun breaks. Generally good road surface with shoulders and manageable gravel drifts. The turn from Black Diamond back to Landsburg was broken frost damage, and fast impatient truck traffic so required attention. In Cumberland once an active stop on the railroad, now a shabby Town Hall now bar/restaurant but it looks like a covid casualty. Remnants of the old logging industry all over.
