Riding local, riding abroad. Doesn't matter. "One less car" bike commuting and "Bikes Belong" advocacy, plus "I ride solo" bicycle travel. Racing is fun, but there are so many equally great reasons to ride.

Parco Inn
Now Sinclair. An extraordinary leftover from the time of Charlie Chaplin and the 1920s. Unusual find in Wyoming.
Sinclair oil refinery
All a bit "Mad Max" like. But
Chris rode with me so it was good to have a buddy, especially on the fast if well shouldered interstate. Despite the road work all the trucks and nearly all the RV shared the road. Lots of interesting geological formations here near Fort Steele but I had to concentrate on riding the interstate.

Man I’m getting tanned on this trip
Wore my rain kit today but again lucky as only got sprinkles on the Interstate before exiting to Sinclair.
Day 45 Sunday June 27
What a change? Pelicans cruising regally in Saratoga Lake, must, promise of a clear day for the 42 miles to Rawlins.
Day 44 Saratoga Lake
Foul weather, mosquitoes, we ditched dinner prep and went to The Grumpy Italian instead. Trying times
Welcome to Wyoming
Thunderstorms and a drenched ride to Saratoga. Van for me, but full experience for everyone else. It's hard to enjoy the spectacular scenery when the weather is so foul.

Day 43 Walden, CO
Drive day for me, and scope out Hanson City Park for free camping. Checked in with the sheriff, with an unbeatable location in the basement of a courthouse.
