Riding local, riding abroad. Doesn't matter. "One less car" bike commuting and "Bikes Belong" advocacy, plus "I ride solo" bicycle travel. Racing is fun, but there are so many equally great reasons to ride.

Route inspiration
Used my old Mountaineers ride book. Out along the bike route on McLean Road as traffic light and the shoulder wide and only a little gravel. Avon Allen Road back, including the normally one way (wrong way when riding south) link to Allen west. Decided not to follow river route back to Mt Vernon park but I should have stayed on AA back to McLean as fast, rumbles and gravel and glass in inadequate shoulder. Probably worth it to go east of Skagit river and over the bridge, despite the narrow raised and often congested footpath. Maybe park on waterfront and tackle the yucky bridge early.
