Day 4 Brunswick to Hancock, MD on the C&O Canal Towpath.
I can actually do this!
Riding local, riding abroad. Doesn't matter. "One less car" bike commuting and "Bikes Belong" advocacy, plus "I ride solo" bicycle travel. Racing is fun, but there are so many equally great reasons to ride.

Post trip in Eugene OR
I relieved the necessary drudgery of van cleaning with excellent food truck dinner and rose at Da Nang and excellent breakfast at Morning Glory Cafe. I always like Oregon.
Before the final descent to Florence
Knock you off the bike tail winds. Plus a bit too much traffic and a final tunnel to ride through scared that the following traffic won't see the flashing "bikes in tunnel" sign, obey the 30mph limit or think it's fun to blast the horn while inside the Hecata tunnel. My rear flasher fell off after all the corrugated road, but I retrieved it intact.
Monday July 26
Dip the front tire in the Pacific to officially end the TransAm. Blustery and mist, just the way it should be.

Onion seed growing outside Springfield
A delicious onion smell in the air. My day to bike to Alsea through the rich willamette valley farms.
Day 72 Blue River on the McKenzie River
A primitive camping night. Followed by a route along the river. I've been here before work cycle Oregon
Day 71 Friday July 23 McKenzie Pass
My day to drive through the extraordinary lava flows and then a corkscrew descent to McKenzie Bridge USFS camping
