I've wondered why people do paddle boarding instead of surfing. The skill set is very different. But watching the 15 wet suit clad boarders strung out across the wide tongue of the wave shows that it's good athletic fun. Certainly the landscape couldn't be more different to the Australian beaches of my youth.
