Riding local, riding abroad. Doesn't matter. "One less car" bike commuting and "Bikes Belong" advocacy, plus "I ride solo" bicycle travel. Racing is fun, but there are so many equally great reasons to ride.

Corn chowder at Vagabond Blues
After a night of camping in flooding rain, a forgettable breakfast at Mary's McKinley View Lodge, where the cafe was overwhelmed with 4 busses of cruise people about 15 minutes after I sat down to eat, another long drive on the Parks Highway trying to pull over for speeding Anchorage bound drivers, and 5 miles of road construction in Wasilla, I was feeling a bit road weary. So, a delicious lunch in Palmer, where the steep surrounding mountains are making an appearance, is most welcome. The sun's out too, so that lifts my spirits.
