Riding local, riding abroad. Doesn't matter. "One less car" bike commuting and "Bikes Belong" advocacy, plus "I ride solo" bicycle travel. Racing is fun, but there are so many equally great reasons to ride.

Driving back towards Palmer on the Gleen Highway
I decided I was fed up with hours of windshield time when I hit 225 miles, so I turned around to stay at Sheep Mountain Lodge. The closer you get to Anchorage the more impatient the traffic becomes. It's difficult to go from 65mph to a flying stop across rumbles into any narrow gravel turnout with tailgaters. I guess it's all part of the Alaskan redneck self image. No doubt there's plenty of traffic fatalities here.
