Riding local, riding abroad. Doesn't matter. "One less car" bike commuting and "Bikes Belong" advocacy, plus "I ride solo" bicycle travel. Racing is fun, but there are so many equally great reasons to ride.

Nearly to Hatcher Pass
I gave up at about 30 miles, just before the final push to Summit Lake. It was getting steeper and steeper and the road turning into grey mud without any gravel., so I wasn't enjoying the driving any more. Apparently the alpine hiking is grand here. Maybe I'll return from the Palmer side when weather improves. The glacial valleys remind me of Shangri-La below Little Giant Pass in the Glacier Peak wilderness at home. Except this is accessible by road.
