Riding local, riding abroad. Doesn't matter. "One less car" bike commuting and "Bikes Belong" advocacy, plus "I ride solo" bicycle travel. Racing is fun, but there are so many equally great reasons to ride.

Only thing missing are the ants
After a drive of nearly 200 miles, I came back to the Sourdough Cafe for their 4th of July dinner special, $15 and change including a slice of apple pie. An old guy in overalls, steel toed boots and a railroad hat just wandered in, and there's country and western patriotic songs being streamed from some local station, so it's a full on cliche experience. The fried chicken is super greasy and the coating is over cooked, so nothing like Ezell's in Seattle. But I'm not in Seattle at the moment. I'm doing just fine having my solo picnic in Fairbanks as it rains again on my car in the parking lot.
