Riding local, riding abroad. Doesn't matter. "One less car" bike commuting and "Bikes Belong" advocacy, plus "I ride solo" bicycle travel. Racing is fun, but there are so many equally great reasons to ride.

Day 2 shakeout ride
Such a scenic circuit! It's been another busy and early start for me, but usually both leaders don't get to bike with the group on the same day, only layovers.!I wish I had more time to explore Arlington and DC, but I'm back shopping for groceries, vainly trying to locate boxes of maps that are AWOL with the postal service, and figuring out plan B. Not everyone wants to rely on Garmin, etc. Several riders are seasoned self contained touring cyclists, with much to teach me. We finished about noon and it's warmed up. I partook of the traditional "dip the back wheel in the Potomac" and a ride from Mile 0 on the C&O trail that starts nearby, in Georgetown.
