Finally I could change to a higher chain ring and ride above 8mph. As sweep I got another late start, and hit heat of the day. The feeling of riding downhill, seeking out the exposed compacted sand under the gravel dunes was great. Luckily the gravel is small size pellets and dry. There are some serious now dried mud patches. The ride for me is tough because of the extra weight of tool kit and first aid kit.
