Riding local, riding abroad. Doesn't matter. "One less car" bike commuting and "Bikes Belong" advocacy, plus "I ride solo" bicycle travel. Racing is fun, but there are so many equally great reasons to ride.

Afternoon at Karnak
E£80 for a ticket to this large and complex archaeological site. Sadly, our visit was marred by the endless attempts of large school groups of teenage boys invading our personal space trying to sneak photos or demanding a selfie with my daughter and I. It's utterly obnoxious. We aren't the attraction, so we figured out quickly how to ignore the demands of these little punks by simply turning our backs on the constant streams of kids all saying exactly the same thing. It's difficult to reply to rudeness in this dehumanizing manner but after the 20th time, enough is enough. I will pack my sunglasses tomorrow. I will not tolerate being treated like an object. It's a nasty type of sexual harassment and it starts too early in this part of the world. On occasion some Egyptian girls wanted selfies with us, and if they asked nicely, which they tended to do, we were more than happy to oblige. Go figure.
