Riding local, riding abroad. Doesn't matter. "One less car" bike commuting and "Bikes Belong" advocacy, plus "I ride solo" bicycle travel. Racing is fun, but there are so many equally great reasons to ride.

Hatshepsut's my girl
Here she is in her glory days. Her unwrapped mummy is upstairs, in the separately ticketed (E£100) Royal Mummies Hall. Not something you want to see any day as it's a bit macabre. I think it's also disrespectful, as she's described on the poster nearby as "an obese female with bad teeth." What is it with these "nasty women" slurs? Excuse me, ladies and gentlemen, but she, too, was a pharaoh. Both Akhenaten and Hatshepsut had powerful and vindictive political enemies who tried to literally wipe them off the historical record. However, I did notice that Hattie's mummified right hand is free of its wrappings so she's still giving the finger to Tuthmoses II, ever since 1458 BC.
