Riding local, riding abroad. Doesn't matter. "One less car" bike commuting and "Bikes Belong" advocacy, plus "I ride solo" bicycle travel. Racing is fun, but there are so many equally great reasons to ride.

Step Pyramid of Zoser
2650BC, the world's earliest stone monument by architect Imhotep. It's suffered a lot of damage since 2014 due to incompetence and corruption with many parties: the contractors, the government agency. The 2011 revolution continues to have unfortunate knock on effects on Egypt's vast, underfunded, and unmanageable heritage. It reminds me, sadly, of China, where toxic air pollution from all its poorly and often unregulated industries and government graft at many levels is destroying the cultural heritage at an intensifying pace.
