About $US 22 of respite from Delhi
The Darjeeling tea was strong and flavor full, the finger savories and small cakes weren't anything special, but the location, in an interior palm court was a tonic. British high tea is a fading art, and I think I'm about the last person in the world who chooses it instead of the mini burgers and other Americanized food on 1911's menu. But I am and I do. The secret to high tea is freshly cut cucumber sandwiches on buttered white bread or tiny pieces of cold meat lathered in chutney and served in still warm rolls. But I still enjoyed feeding my cold with a throwback to an earlier world.
