My guidebook claims that this mosque is a serene oasis set in the bustling surrounding markets. Hmm, perhaps if you get inside, past all the date and jaggery carts, maimed beggars, and hungry stray dogs. I'm not sure what serenity they're describing. Maybe earlier in the day it's not quite so busy? Maybe I'll have to come back, but there is an over abundance of mosques to see in Delhi. The main facade is covered in scaffolding, so perhaps that detracts from the experience.
