The taxi wallahs waiting outside the door of my haveli convinced me it was 3km to this well-reviewed restaurant, so for 200 rupees round trip, down from an initial outrageous quote of 300 rupees, I decided to spend a couple of hours enjoying lunch in Jaipur. I had aloo tandoori (mashed potato wrapped around peas and paneer), with paratha, a large pot of masala tea, and given I'm eating "veg" today, even a sweet for dessert. Came to 520 rupees.
