India is justly famous for its textiles, and I'd planned to buy something representative if I found anything I liked. Today I bought this extravagantly chain stitched coat from a vendor in the courtyard of the Crafts Museum. It wasn't cheap, but it wasn't unreasonable either. It has a beautiful color way and the embroidery is intense. In the past I've admired other women who wear such flamboyantly exotic clothing to the theater or other formal events. Now I can do likewise. I certainly won't need to add any jewelry whenever I wear this outfit.
